Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter #6)
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry Potter #6)

(Review by Daniel)

Harry Potter is a worldwide phenomenon. Everyone’s read it (or burned it), and its the most popular series of the 21st century (so far). I’m here to review the latest entry in the chronicles of the wizard in training. Most of you have already read it and if I said anything critical you would bombard me with hate-mail like Fullmetal Alchemist fans to X-Play. But I do think this is the best yet, and I’m eagerly awaiting the next (and final *sob*) installment. The series continues to grow darker, and there is another major death, one that shakes the Potter mythos to its core. this is an amazing literary achievement(ahh, no hate-mail, except from the religious fanatics). If your are one of the two people in the world who hasn’t read this, check it out.

Ragweed
Ragweed

Ragweed by Howard Avi
Review by Crystal

The name of the book I read is called Ragweed and it written by AVI. A country mouse named Ragweed who is four months old decides to go to the city to explore it. He meets up with a vole that tells him to take the train to the city. When he gets to the city a cat named Silversides attacks him, because he’s mad that all the mice get all the attention. When he escapes a girl mouse named Clutch pulls him into her hiding place, which is an old broken car. Clutch is a mouse with the top of her head painted green and her dad Windshield loves to paint with his tail all the time. Her mom, Foglight, writes poems all the time. Clutch shows Ragweed all around the city. She takes him to her club named the “Cheese Squeeze Club”. Then Silversides and Graybar destroy the club and killed the lead singer of the “B-Flat Tires”. Silversides throws Clutch against the wall and when Silversides tries to kill her, Ragweed grabs Clutch’s skateboard and runs up in front of Silversides and shoves the skateboard in her mouth so she can’t close her mouth or get the skateboard out. Later Ragweed saves Blinkers life when he is going to get on the train to go home. Blinker is the pet mouse of the owner of Silversides and left home to explore the world. Ragweed decides to stay for a while longer and help Clutch make a new club called “Café Independent”. Blinker betrays the other mice by telling Silversides how to get into the new club. Blinker then warns the other mice about the cats coming so he can save their lives. The cats break in and the mice hose them down with water and then the cats ran away and left town. Then Ragweed decides to leave because he thinks Clutch loves Blinker and not him. Clutch and Blinker meet him at the train and tell him the mice decided to name the new club “Club Ragweed”. Blinker and Clutch give Ragweed Clutch’s purple earring. Ragweed leaves trying to hold in the tears.

Eragon (Inheritance Trilogy #1)
Eragon (Inheritance Trilogy #1)

Eragon
By Christopher Paolini
(Review by Daniel)

You find what looks like a large sapphire while hunting to get family food during the winter. You try to sell it, but no one has a clue what it is. A few days later, a dragon hatches from it. You are either the teenage boy, Eragon, who Lives in a lord of the rings-type world or very, very lucky. If you liked Lord of the Rings, you’ll love this. This is one of my favorite books of all time and the beginning of the Inheritance Trilogy, which you won’t want to miss. Can you believe the author is only about the age of the main character? 5/5 stars.
