Midnight for Charlie Bone: (Children of the Red King, Book 1)
Midnight for Charlie Bone: (Children of the Red King, Book 1)

by Jenny Nimmo
(Review by Shannon, VA)

I recently read a book titled "Midnight for Charlie Bone". This book had approximately 400 pages, and because it was soo good, I read it in about 2 days. The main character is a boy named Charlie Bone. This book contains several events. The first thing that happens is Charlie Bone hears voices when he gets a picture that isn't his and hears voices when he looks at it. The next thing that happens is he returns the picture to which it belongs to. In return she gives him a mechanical dog and a mysterious box that was traded for a baby. This is followed by the part that he gets sent to a school for people with magical powers. They didn't have a section for him so he went into the music section. Then finds out there are other people with his type of power, but only a few. You'll have to read the book to find out what happens to Charlie Bone and what the box will help for. The ending will definitely be a surprise. After this book there are more which is really good because this book was the best and I would want to read those. This book would be enjoyed by people who like mystery and adventure books and magical powers. I would recommend this book to my classmates and even my parents. I got this book at my public library so go over there now and read this book!!

A to Z Mysteries: Volume A-D
A to Z Mysteries: Volume A-D

Author: Ron Roy
Review by Brendan White
I really like them because the kids find out all the mysteries. I really liked in The Quicksand Question when they found the jeep in the mud. I also liked in The Kidnapped King when they found the little boy in a laundry basket.

 Night of the Twisters
Night of the Twisters

by Ivy Ruckman
(Review by Andrew - 11, VA)

This is a fantastic adventure book I read for a book report. I thought it would be the normal boring book report, but it wasn't. The book takes place in a small town in Grand Island, Nebraska. It starts out being a normal day and taking the first swim of the summer. It does not end that normal though. They look up at the sky and it does not look so good so they rush home. Reports on T.V. start announcing that there are tornado warnings all over that area and they prepare for the twister, but when it comes it becomes a hide and seek from the twister. On top of all that their parents weren't home. So to find out the ending go to your local library and get the book Night of the Twister.

Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon
Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon

Author: Stephen King
(Review by Samantha  - 13)

Can any writer show what happens to a nine-year-old girl who wanders off the path and into the woods better than King? This is what happens to Trisha McFarland when, on a family trip, she goes off the trail and gets lost. To cope, she pretends that Tom Gordon, her favorite baseball player, is there protecting her. But when an all too real danger comes to call, can she save herself? This is proof that the king of horror is King himself.
